I was excited to see this on the map. First- the info center wasn't open-oh well. Took the path up & up & up a hill to find an occasional petrified log piece in a short bricked in area with a big grate on top. Like in the zoo or something. I thought it rather sad. Stops thieves I suppose. But when were at the Petrified Forest in Arizona (last trip) there were tons just laying around-free range. Probably Feds prosecute harder?(30 days in the hole?)
